We Bought a Zoo

Cameron Crowe may be the last of the Hollywood romantics.

Rather, he gives it gentle due in passages that remind you that there’s often a strain of melancholia in this director’s work, a sadness that suggests that Mr. Crowe intimately knows the darkness and uses his movies as a way to resist (or deny) it. Whatever the case, you may not buy his happy endings, but it’s a seductive ideal when all of God’s creatures, great and small, buxom and blond, exist in such harmony.

I liked it,very much.

Every breath you take

Sempre que respirares
Sempre que te mexeres
Cada laço que quebrares
Cada passo que deres
Eu estarei a olhar-te
Todos os dias
Cada palavra que disseres
Cada jogo que jogares
Cada noite que ficares
Eu estarei a olhar-te
Oh, será que não vês

Que me pertences
Como o meu pobre coração dói
Com cada passo que dás
Cada movimento que fizeres
Cada voto que quebrares
Cada sorriso que fingires
Cada alegação que arriscares
Eu estarei a olhar-te
Desde que partiste

Estou perdido sem rasto
Sonho à noite
Só consigo ver o teu rosto
Olho em redor, mas és tu quem eu não consigo substituir
Sinto-me tão frio
Desejo o teu abraço
Continuo a chorar bebé, bebé, por favor
Oh, será que não vês
Que me pertences
Como o meu pobre coração dói
Com cada passo que dás
Cada movimento que fizeres
Cada laço que quebrares
Cada sorriso que fingires
Cada alegação que arriscares

Eu estarei a olhar-te
Cada movimento que fizeres

Cada passo que deres
Eu estare a olhar-te
Eu estarei a olhar-te
Cada vez que respirares

Cada movimento que fizeres
Cada laço que quebrares
Sempre que respirares
Sempre que te mexeres
Cada laço que quebrares
Cada passo que deres
Eu estareia olhar-te

Todos os dias
Cada palavra que disseres
Cada jogo que jogares
Cada noite que ficares
Eu estarei a olhar-te
Cada movimento que fizeres

Cada laço que quebrares
Cada sorriso que fingires
Cada alegação que arriscares
Eu estarei a olhar-te

Slow like honey

It's my big secret - Keeping you coming

Hello There

                                                       The angel from my nightmare

Where are you?

                                                                       I cannot sleep
                                                                I cannot dream tonight

And as I stared I counted
The webs from all the spiders
Catching things and eating their insides

                                                              Like indecision to call you
And hear your voice of treason
                                                               Will you come home
                                                           And stop this pain tonight?
                                                                Stop this pain tonight

You're already the voice inside my head
(I miss you)

Intouchables

Simple, beautiful, efficient, like a good French cuisine, making a great dish full of tastes magically mixed .

Based on the true story of Philippe Pozzo di Borgo, a champagne millionaire paralysed in a paragliding accident, Intouchables has become a low budget cinematic phenomenon and sparked national debate on a topic many prefer to ignore – life in France for the disabled.

This is love love love love, precious love
This is precious love

Hey

Loving you was easy, playing by the rules
But you said love tastes so much better, when it's
cruel
To you everything was just a game, and oh yeah you
played me good
But I want you, I want you, I want you so much more
than I should
Yes I do
I've got my hands up so take your aim, yeah I'm ready
There's nothing that we can't go through
Oh it hit me like a steel freight train when you left
me
Nothing ever hurt like you
Nothing ever hurt like you
I was naive and wide-eyed, but you made me see
That you don't get to taste the honey, without the
sting of a bee
No you don't
Yes, you stung me good, oh yeah you dug in deep
But I'll take it, I'll take it, I'll take it till I'm
down on my knees
I've got my hands up so take your aim, yeah I'm ready
There ain't nothing that I won't do
Walk a thousand miles on broken glass, it won't stop
me
From making my way back to you
It's not real until you feel the pain
Nothing ever hurt like you
Nothing ever hurt like you
Oh nothing ever hurt like you
You got to believe me
Oh everything was just a game, yes you played me good
But I want you, I want you, I want you, I want you, I
want you
Oh I've got my hands up so take your aim, yes I'm
ready
There ain't nothing that we can't go through
Oh it hit me like a hurricane when you left me
But I'd do it all again for you
I'll walk a thousand miles on broken glass, it won't
stop me
From making my way back to you
It's not real until you feel the pain
Nothing ever hurt like you
Nothing ever hurt like you

What if

I got it wrong
                                                                And no poem or song
Could put right what I got wrong
Or make you feel I belong
                                                              What if you should decide
That you don't want me there by your side
That you don't want me there in your life

Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close

This film is not so much about 9/11. Instead it is more akin to a public service announcement for Asperger's syndrome, or some garden variety diagnosis of a tortured genius nine year old.

It's up to something else. I am not sure I know what it is. It is definitely hard to follow.

By the end of the movie you feel like throwing Oskar's tambourine in the East River.

And I kissed you

You were in my dream last night and I kissed you.

The great Russian Pianist

“ At heart he’s a colorist, an intimist, melancholic, with astonishing tonal nuances and an endless, much-trafficked variety of touches… the Preludes were the true revelation: profoundly original, magisterial, heartfelt. The audience sat through them in complete, rapt silence. Long lines breathed to an elastic rhythm. Preludes like the one in B flat minor galloped and raced. Those in F sharp and D flat produced moments of faraway, unearthly beauty. I can’t at the moment recall anything like them. Here was a great artist.”

P.S- I'm in love with the pianist.

I may not always love you...but god only knows

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love
Then you softly leave
And its me you need to show

How deep is your love?
How deep is your love?
I really meant to learn
Cos were living in a world of fools
Breaking us down when they
All should let us be.

I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
Youre the light in my deepest, darkest hour
My savior when I fall

And you may not think I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do

How deep is your love?
How deep is your love?
I really meant to learn
Cos were living in a world of fools
Breaking us down when they
All should let us be.

Margin Call

Margin Call is an explosive drama that speaks lucidly and scarily to the times we live in.

Is the best fictional treatment of the current economic crisis.

Chandor's language is as precise and convincing as Mamet's, the realism never slips into cheap cynicism and, as Jean Renoir says in La Règle du jeu: "The awful thing is this. Everyone has his reasons."

A nāo sei que (Homem) Mulher

Dei-te os dias, as horas e os minutos
Destes anos de vida que passaram;
Nos meus versos ficaram
Imagens que são máscaras anónimas
Do teu rosto proibido;
A fome insatisfeita que senti
Era de ti,
Fome do instinto que não foi ouvido.

Agora retrocedo, leio os versos,
Conto as desilusões no rol do coração,
Recordo o pesadelo dos desejos,
Olho o deserto humano desolado,
E pergunto porquê, por que razão
Nas dunas do teu peito o vento passa
Sem tropeçar na graça
Do mais leve sinal da minha mão...

Florbela

Shame

You may have heard that Shame is a movie about sex. It's really not. It's a movie about addiction.

The movie is excruciatingly slow-paced. Director Steve McQueen lingers on scenes until they reach, and surpass, emotional breaking point. When Sissy sings the world's most melancholy cover of "New York, New York," at the nightclub at the top of the Standard Hotel, which is called the Boom Boom Room, McQueen gives us the whole song. It's punishing.

Driven by a brilliant, ferocious performance by Michael Fassbender, Shame is a real walk on the wild side, a scorching look at a case of sexual addiction that’s as all-encompassing as a craving for drugs.

Strong stuff  from bold director Steve McQueen and the extraordinary Michael Fassbender.

Albert Nobbs

Glenn Close has certainly broken barriers with this gender bending film that has got people talking. The Albert Nobbs movie stars Glenn Close as a woman living her life as a man in 19th century Ireland. This movie has earned a lot of talk from people all over the world and also from fans of Glenn Close. It is also worth noting that Glenn Close is nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture in the Golden Globe for her performance in the movie. She has been fighting to bring this project that was based on a novella “The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs by George Moore in1927. Audiences have different comments when it comes to Close’s performance. An audience from Rotten Tomatoes said that the film had its flaws but the performances of Close and McTeer certainly helped the movie rise above it. Although, there are some who were a bit disappointed. (http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/albert_nobbs/reviews/?type=user) Close first played the part of Albert Nobbs in an Off Broadway performance in 1982 and now it will grace the big screen on January 27, 2012. The film is directed by Rodrigo Garcia and produced by Chrysalis Films, Mockingbird Pictures, Parallel Film Productions and WestEnd Films.

It's a heartbreaking story that will really hit home. Albert on the surface is a simple man, but underneath lies a wealth of feeling, confusion, and love. The film ends with the beautiful song "Lay Your Head Down" with lyrics by Close herself, music by Brian Byrne, and sung by Sinead O'Connor. It reminded me of "Into the West" by Annie Lennox, the Oscar winning song from Lord of the Rings: Return of the King. This song from Albert is somber, sweet, and plays like a lullaby. I think it's safe to say that is exactly what it is; a lullaby for Albert, a character whose life has been so strenuous and tiresome.

P.S- This film is based on the 19th century Irish writer George Moore's short story 'The Singular Life of Albert Nobbs'.

[ One Flew Over a Cuckoo´s Nest ]

There is a town in north Ontario,
With dream comfort memory to spare,
And in my mind
I still need a place to go,
All my changes were there.

Blue, blue windows behind the stars,
Yellow moon on the rise,
Big birds flying across the sky,
Throwing shadows on our eyes.
Leave us

Helpless, helpless, helpless

Baby can you hear me now?
The chains are locked
and tied across the door,
Baby, sing with me somehow.

Blue, blue windows behind the stars,
Yellow moon on the rise,
Big birds flying across the sky,
Throwing shadows on our eyes.
Leave us

Helpless, helpless, helpless

Eva

An elegantly told, love story, spiced with mechanical cats and the cutest girl in a red coat since... "don't look now"

The cast is also above average, especially for German Daniel Brühl ("Inglourious Basterds"), newcomer Claudia Vega and rightly awarded Lluís Homar ("Broken Embraces"), who plays to perfection a butler robot with different levels of emotionality. Technically, the film is beyond reproach at all levels (for the 12 Goya nominations are proof of that), especially beyond the special effects and Xavi Bastida Joseph M. Meneses ("Pan's Labyrinth"), music and Evgueni Galperine Sacha, a photograph of Arnau Valls Colomer and assembly of Elena Ruiz ("The Orphanage").

I need to talk with you

meet me in... (Paris)

All I need

all i need is a little time,
to get behind this sun and cast my weight,
all i need is a peace of this mind,
then i can celebrate.

all in all there's something to give,
all in all there's something to do,
all in all there's something to live,
with you...

all i need is a little sign,
to get behind this sun and cast this weight of mine,
all i need is the place to find,
and there i'll celebrate.

all in all there's something to give,
all in all there's something to do,
all in all there's something to live,
with you.
